What are the cases when it is necessary to see a physiotherapist

whenever you experience discomfort or pain in joints in the course of regular daily physical activity

If after getting injured you were given first aid at the emergency room, but some time later you feel that “something is wrong” as the mobility of the joint has been compromised

you have had an MRI scan of the affected area and the expert’s opinion is alarming. In the first place, because you cannot understand what all this gobbledygook means

you know your precise diagnosis because you have sought advice of an orthopedic surgeon, and a trauma surgeon, and they confirm that despite the injury , you can definitely do without surgical intervention

you are going to have your joint operated on, or you have already done it, and are looking forward to returning to your usual active lifestyle as soon as possible

you realize that a new challenge is awaiting you: competitions, auditioning, training camps, any sport challenge, increased physical load – and you want to reach a new level of physical readiness quickly and without harm to your body.

Whichever of these issues should arise, it is better not to procrastinate but dial the physiotherapist’s number at once.

Sports rehabilitation implies adherence to its fundamental principles:

  • Early beginning of rehabilitation care
  • Continuous rehabilitation
  • Comprehensive rehabilitation
  • Individually-tailored rehabilitation
  • The need for rehabilitation in a team
  • Return of the patient to active work

Rehabilitation goals

FOR PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES

  • recovery time within the shortest possible time
  • physical conditioning at training camps for competitions within the shortest possible terms
  • 5 to 6 workouts a week, 2 to 7 hours a day
  • staying at the sports and rehabilitation center
  • online training

Professional athletes who have undergone recovery programmes at Rujencev.Team excel and reach pinnacles in football, hockey, basketball, gymnastics, figure skating and dancing, combat sports, in all sorts of running events and game-based sports. The athletes we take care of bring home medals from World and European Championships, score awesome goals in the best professional football leagues, win cups in European competitions and international tournaments.

Rujencev.Team physiotherapists spare no efforts to make a difference and be conducive to continuous successful athletes’ careers. Such work is a challenge, as sessions can last up to 5 to 7 hours, 5 to 6 times a week – for several months. Indeed, the scope and quality of the work performed produce an immediate effect on the terms and quality of recovery and rehabilitation. The point is that the athlete must resume activities not ‘after the surgery’, but become stronger, both physically and mentally, ready for sportsdom, for training camps, competitions, etc.

Therefore, before starting rehabilitation, we always, on case-by-case basis, discuss the athletes’ competition schedules and, in addition to the rehabilitation process, purposefully prepare them for professional recommencement. All individual rehabilitation and training programmes for professionals are developed and supervised by Vyacheslav Rujencev (Rujencev), Honored Coach of Ukraine, Ukrainian National Football Team strength and conditioning coach, Coach for physical training of Youth and National teams of Ukraine on football, World Champion 2019 in Football as member of the U-20 team coaching staff.

For Fans of an Active Lifestyle

Investing on one’s own health and longevity has always been profitable; it is just wonderful that now this is a wide-spread trend. Today, the people who develop their business, career or favorite pass-time are engaged in active sports life. They always find time to keep fit.

Therefore, before starting rehabilitation, we always individually discuss the athlete’s competition schedule and, in addition to the recovery process, purposefully prepare him for the starts. All individual programs for the rehabilitation and training of professionals are developed and supervised by Vyacheslav Vladimirovich Ruzhentsev – Honored Coach of Ukraine, Coach for the physical training of junior and youth Ukrainian national football teams, World Champion 2019 in football as part of the coaching staff of the U-20 team.

Regretably, this process is not without some adverse effects. In the first place, people lack adequate awareness of prevention. What is even more dangerous, it is the lack of knowledge about what to do after getting injured, where to turn for the correct diagnosis, in which cases an operation is needed, and how to get through the comprehensive recovery.
Thousands of people live with ruptured ligaments of knee or ankle, with an injuried meniscus, with spinal hernias, and the only “treatment” they undergo is rest and giving up the active lifestyle.

Meanwhile, it takes 21 days to recover after a complete meniscus rupture under professional supervision. It is precisely following this time period after the surgical intervention that professionals enter competitions. Ordinary people, however, can suffer from a similar issue for years.

At Rujencev.Team, we have been building a professional recovery system for active people for several years. The most difficult thing for an individual is to find the real motivation within oneself. A professional athlete, however, does not need to look for motivation elsewhere, because sport and activity are his earnings, reputation, and career. There is no turning back or taking one step backward. While those who pursue a different type of activity and combine it with an active lifestyle find it increasingly difficult to allow some time, get inspired to go on after the first improvements and have another 2 to 3 hours’ long session. Therefore, today we break down the recuperation of active people into several stages. The first one – “back to life” – is a conventional rehabilitation programme given in order to restore comfort of movement in daily life again. The second stage is a return to an active sports life. And, the third one is gaining access to a wholly new level of physical fitness.

More often than not people struggle with identifying immediate and clearly-cut ultimate goals and objectives; many are those who “are drawn in” during the practice course, therefore daily communication is part of our work. After all, we all want our expectations to coincide with reality.
And this requires hard endevours of both the physiotherapists and their supervisees

FOR SENIOR PEOPLE

  • restoration of normal joint mobility
  • restoration of normal functioning of the muscle mass
  • elevation of and boosting the overall muscle tone
  • a pleasant surprise from the outcome

Successful people do not grow old. Millions of people around the world have come to realize this fact. At the age of 80 our attendees undergo a rehabilitation course in order to return to the tennis court after a cervical hip fracture. This new reality is becoming the standard of modern life and
work of a physiotherapist.

It goes without saying that age restrictions and peculiarities do exist which affect the recovery terms and outcomes. Nevertheless, you can definitely claim that at any age it is necessary to restore the normal mobility of joints, return the body to the active tone, and maintain muscles in a working condition.

Rehabilitation, Recuperation and Prevention of Injuries in Children, Adolescents and Youths

Throughout the 15 years of practice, Rujencev.Team have taken care of hundreds of children and adolescents who were on the point of quitting sport. Today they are building successful sports careers in professional leagues of Ukraine, Europe, North America in both team and individual
sports.

In childhood and adolescence, virtually every person faces issues of imbalance when exercising. At this age, the body develops in its own individual way. Every child develops their own unique biomechanics. Strong physical qualities begin to manifest. The body enters the phase of rapid growth, with soft tissues failing to keep up with the growth of the skeleton. The uneven physical load only exacerbates the problem. In adolescence, human beings may develop chondromalacia, Koenig disease, and Osgood–Schlatter disease. However, contrary to the popular belief that these conditions are not supposed to be treated, that you need a long pause in sports to “outgrow” the syndrome, everything is remediable using physiotherapeutic methods and individual training.

Another issue at this age is that at sports clubs a child is typically enrolled in a general health group, i.e. a group with no special care needed. The physical load there is considered universally tolerable. However, quite often nothing can be further from the truth when the individual development of a teenager is concerned. Some need reduced load on the knee joint while strengthening the hip, others have to pay more attention to working out the back and the hip joint, whereas the third should
strengthen their ankles. All these special needs should be taken care of in special needs groups. The only right way to follow is to be seen by an orthopedist and, depending on recommendations, to workout additionally on an individual basis under the supervision of a physiotherapist. The latter, among other things, takes into account the competitive schedule and builds the programme in such a way that allows bringing the child to important events in the best shape.
